Two page summation of the Dauphinais and Levering book. No citations and no reference page. (Excerpt below)
Dauphinais and Levering’s book, Holy People, Holy land is an introduction to the bible, covering Genesis to Revelations, and focusing upon messianic prophecy and fulfillment.
Genesis must be read with a child’s view and not taken apart critically, saying that trees could not be created before the sun. The idea is that God is not a creature and His word is law. Satan’s challenge to God was about power and Milton has Satan speak his line that it is better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven. Few rational beings would believe that. In Eden there was a holy people and while God walked with them it was a holy land as well. This is the first incidence of a holy land and holy people.
